DASH by Wonder Workshop

This robot available from Wonder Workshop is an incredible way to enter robotics – especially if you have a child who isn’t interested in building the robot, who just wants to get on programming one.  As soon as Dash comes out of the box, it makes sounds and performs actions that engage you.

Wonder Workshop have really thought this through.  You control and program Dash using one of the apps via the App Store or Google Play.

Using “Go” a preschooler can remote control Dash around the room.  This is simple and quick to learn.  The “Wonder” app allows you to drive and programme and, using “Blockly” an older child can use a Scratch type system – building blocks of code – and quickly program Dash to perform simple tasks.

Dash is very simple to use but you must have the correct system requirements.  Anecdotally, it does perform better using the iOS (iPad) system and your device must have Bluetooth for it to work.  Please visit “Will My Device Work” to check compatibility.  We take no responsibility for incompatible systems.

Not for the faint hearted! This is the robot for the student who wants a challenge. The software is more advanced and there are over 1000 pieces in this kit. 13+ years students will enjoy this robot!

VEX IQ Robot

The VEX Starter Kit with Controller allows students to drive robots right out of the box.

After this, robots can be programmed on the LCD or via a computer using free graphical programming software. While the included instructions help students easily build their first robot, the snap-together parts mean the sky is the limit for their VEX IQ creations.  The included Smart Motors and Bumper Switch provide significant learning opportunities.

We have had amazing feedback from customers about the VEX and several people have re-hired straight away.  Our own kids art part of a VEX highschool team that competes in the VEX EDR Competition and they love the VEX system.  This is a more advanced system and is a definite must for technically minded high-schoolers!
