Felt kit:

We love felt!  It is hard to visualise the inner-workings of the human body, but this anatomy lesson set makes it easy for children to remember. This set teaches health, exercise, anatomy and body functions.  You receive a full size 87cm torso, 34 pre-cut pieces and a teacher’s manual.  The main torso is sewn onto a piece of backing felt so you can pin it up on your board and arrange all the pieces around or on it.

The pieces include 7 felt charts of close ups of the eye, teeth, heart, animal cell and more.  The pieces are easy to use, large and tactile, and are a easy to use for all ages.

Human x-ray kit:

Hold these life-size human x-rays up to the light or use them on a light table and see every authentic detail of a real skeleton. Arrange the 18 pieces together to reproduce the entire body of a young adult 1.5m tall. The teacher guide includes information on radiography and a reproducible skeleton for your children to label the parts.

What’s Inside Animals X-ray pack with Frog Model

What’s Inside Animals: 16 double-sided photo/x-ray cards of animals from the different Kingdoms.  Compare and contrast their outer features and then hold the page up to the light, lightbox or strong torch, and reveal the skeletal system of the animals!  It’s an excellent way to introduce students in all years to the similarities and differences in anatomy.

Flip the cards over to get a better look at the skeleton. Compare and contrast the image of the human to the walrus, giraffe, snake, owl, etc. The cards are 22 x 28 cm. Includes teacher guide.

Frog Model:  A take apart model on a larger scale to allow you to “dissect” a frog without all the mess.  Also includes a small booklet to allow you to name the parts of the frog.

K’Nex DNA Set – don’t wait for high school!

Don’t wait until high school – get an understanding of DNA before you sit NCEA Biology!  Understanding DNA will help with Level 2 standards such as “Demonstrate understanding of genetic variation and change” and “Demonstrate understanding of gene expression”.  Level 3 also has a gene component.  This set allows you to play and physically move DNA strands around to gain understanding of the make up of DNA, mutations and more.

This kit consists of two large models: a plant cell, an animal cell all in 3D. A fantastic tool for teaching how the internal structure of various animals and plants are different to our own.

Each model comes complete with a small instruction booklet with information about the organism the model represents and some suggestions of downloadable colouring pages.

This set is best used in conjunction with your own study into cells.  It will help as a memory aid for memorising the parts of each cell.  It is not suitable for preschoolers due to small parts.
